Among adults 18-49, the final Sunday of the May sweeps was The
Bachelor’s. ABC said it was up 34% over the same Sunday a year ago and
pulled its second-highest adult 18-49 delivery on the night this season
beyond the Super Bowl and Academy Awards. ABC also beat second-place Fox by
12%, the network said. At 9 p.m., the season finale grew by 5 million
viewers and 52% in adults 18-49 from start to finish, with 17.5 million
viewers watching the final half-hour of the show while Andrew Firestone
proposed to Jennifer Schefft of Chicago. It was the number-one show on
Sunday night in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
